At Hope Community Church Menai, our vision is to be a Christ-centered community that transforms lives and impacts the world with the love, hope, and grace of Jesus. We believe that by fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, we can create a space where people from all walks of life can encounter Jesus in a meaningful way. Our mission is to glorify God by not only deepening our personal faith but also by empowering others to grow in theirs. We are dedicated to sharing the Gospel through dynamic worship, engaging teaching, and authentic relationships that build a strong sense of community.

By offering various programs and ministries that cater to all ages and stages of life, we strive to be a church that supports spiritual growth, encourages service, and makes a tangible difference in our local community and beyond. Our History

Hope Community Church Menai began as a small gathering of passionate believers in the early 1990s with a vision to create a faith community that would serve and uplift the people of Menai and the surrounding areas. What started in a humble setting has since grown into a vibrant church family, committed to sharing the love of Christ and making a positive impact in the local community.

Over the years, we have seen God’s faithfulness at every turn. From our early days of meeting in homes and rented spaces to establishing a permanent church building, each step of our journey has been marked by a deep sense of purpose and a desire to see lives transformed by the Gospel. Our church has always been rooted in strong relationships, both with God and with one another, and that foundation has allowed us to grow and flourish.

Throughout our history, we have been blessed with dedicated leaders and committed members who have poured their hearts into building a church that reflects the love and grace of Jesus. From launching various outreach programs to expanding our ministries for children, youth, and adults, our focus has always been on serving our community and equipping others to do the same.

As we look back, we are grateful for the countless ways God has guided and provided for us. But our story is far from over. We continue to grow and evolve, always seeking new ways to share the hope we have in Christ and to make a lasting difference in the lives of those around us. At Hope Community Church Menai, our history is a testament to God’s goodness, and we look forward to the future with faith, anticipation, and a commitment to His mission.

Our Pastors

Our Pastors: Ps Peter & Louise Abood
Ps Peter and Louise Abood are the dedicated and passionate leaders of Hope Community Church Menai. After serving in various pastoral roles over the years and regularly visiting as guest preachers, they officially became the pastors of Hope Community Church in 2023. Their heart for ministry is centred on seeing lives transformed through the saving power of Jesus Christ.

With a deep desire to see people set free, Peter and Louise are committed to helping others experience salvation, healing, and freedom from challenges such as depression, oppression, sickness, addiction, and poverty. They believe that spiritual problems require spiritual solutions, while natural problems need practical answers—and some challenges may require a combination of both.

Their ministry is marked by a genuine love for people and a willingness to walk alongside individuals as they navigate life’s difficulties. Peter, Louise, and the entire Hope Community Church team are devoted to journeying with people, offering support, prayer, and guidance along the way.

Their vision for Hope Community Church is to see generations coming together, hearing from God, experiencing His presence, and witnessing His miraculous works. They regularly pray for and see miracles, breakthroughs, and tangible changes in the lives of those they minister to.

Statement of Belief

At Hope Community Church Menai, we are united by our faith in Jesus Christ and are guided by the core beliefs that define our relationship with God, each other, and the world. These beliefs are rooted in Scripture and form the foundation of our worship, teachings, and daily lives.

  1. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator of all things, sovereign over the universe, and deeply involved in His creation, demonstrating His love, justice, and mercy.
  2. We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is fully God and fully human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world through His death on the cross. He rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return again in glory to judge the living and the dead.
  3. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who dwells within all believers, empowering and guiding us in our Christian walk. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and enables believers to live out their faith with boldness and love.
  4. We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, authoritative and relevant for all matters of faith and life. Scripture reveals God’s will, His character, and His plan for humanity, providing wisdom, instruction, and encouragement for living a Christ-centered life.
  5. We believe that all people are created in the image of God but are separated from Him by sin. Salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone, by grace through faith. Through His sacrifice, we are forgiven, reconciled to God, and given the gift of eternal life.
  6. We believe in the Church, the body of Christ, composed of all believers who are called to worship God, grow in faith, and serve others. The Church is both a community of believers and a mission to the world, proclaiming the Gospel and making disciples.
  7. We believe in the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper as outward signs of inward grace. Baptism symbolizes our identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, and the Lord’s Supper is a celebration of His sacrifice and a reminder of His promise to return.
  8. We believe in the power of prayer and the importance of living in dependence on God. Prayer is both a personal and communal practice, through which we express our gratitude, seek guidance, and intercede for others.
  9. We believe that our faith compels us to live out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. We are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are also called to go into the world, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and making disciples of all nations.
  10. We believe in the hope of eternal life and the resurrection of the dead. We look forward to the return of Jesus Christ, the restoration of all things, and the establishment of God’s eternal Kingdom.

These beliefs guide everything we do at Hope Community Church Menai, shaping our worship, our community, and our mission. We strive to live out our faith with love, humility, and a deep commitment to following Jesus Christ in all aspects of life.
